The Gibson P-90 Soapbar Underwound pickup pulls the output back a touch when compared to more traditional Alnico III models, and comes with a two-wire, 7.2 kOhm setup, so it can mounted at the bridge or neck of a solid-bodied electric guitar. This versatile single-coil has an immediately musical response where the sound of the strings and the overtones are kept tight and ultra-present at any volume level, meaning that this pup is able to take on an array of different genres. This model has also been wax-potted to counter unwelcome microphonic squeals, making it a great replacement for vintage models loaded with more sensitive P90 pickups.
